Facilities

Jaguar Creek is surrounded by the 700 acres of our Jaguar Creek Reserve.

The blue line is Jaguar Creek. Above it and to the top right is a string of 8 guest cabins. The largest building to the left of center is the Lodge and Dining Room. To the far left is the Maintenance Building and below it are 3 staff cabins. The entrance parking lot and hut is near the top left and the large building near it is our newly renovated Office and Classroom building. The pathways between buildings are elevated wood boardwalks.

Designed to be low impact and sustainable, Jaguar Creek blends "green" technologies with simple, yet comfortable accommodations appropriate for the jungle setting.

Powered almost exclusively by a mid-sized solar system, Jaguar Creek also uses composting toilets, gray water leach fields and other low impact technologies. To read the Technical Report click here.

Our facilities compare favorably to local tourist resorts, but we retained the jungle atmosphere of our site. You can look out the screen windows and see birds in the brush just feet away from your cabin -- not manicured lawn.

The Dining Room

We have 10 cabins available for group use and have a flexible maximum capacity of fifty people.

Each native pine cabin has a tin roof, one queen size bed and several single beds in it. Every cabin also has it's own bathroom with hot and cold water and all our water is filtered, chlorinated and tested monthly.

Culinary specialties focus on local dishes that are low on the food chain and emphasize healthy eating and plant-based proteins. So we use meat sparingly and serve lots of tropical fruit, vegetables, pastas, rice and beans, fresh bread and home-made flour and corn tortillas.
